Brussels Major Events (BME) stages large public events for the City of Brussels and other public bodies. Our events, which are often free, revitalize the capital, boosting local development and tourism alike and bringing wider socioeconomic benefits. Sustainability and eco-responsibility are an integral part of every project. We prioritize delivering multifaceted activities that everyone can enjoy and create new opportunities for artists and organizations with roots in Brussels or Belgium.

Every year, the centre city dazzles thanks to Winter Wonders. Our must-visit event helps increase Brussels’s appeal throughout the festive season.

Belgium’s capital is filled with the magic of Christmas: colourful stalls, gift ideas, seasonal specialties, an ice rink, curling sheet, illuminations and other attractions plus a sackload of culture and entertainment for festive fun with family or friends. The 25th Winter Wonders will be held from 28 November 2025 to 4 January 2026.

Ahead of the Winter Wonders event, BME is looking for an intern until at least 16 January. The internship must run until 16 January. However, the start date is flexible (minimum three months).

The vacant position is Exploitation & Marketing Officer. The intern will assist the Sponsorship & Partnership Coordinator in managing our B2B partners and offerings but also an Exploitation & Marketing Coordinator in managing the Winter Wonders ice rink.

The intern may be required to assist colleagues with other projects.

  • Partnership / sponsorship
    • Management from the partnership proposal to practical delivery, including the administrative aspects of establishing an agreement
    • Administrative and practical oversight of the different partner activations
    • Ensuring that information is passed to the various departments
  • Guest of honour
    • Managing the various Winter Wonders guest of honour initiatives in the office and onsite
    • Ensuring that information is passed to the various departments
  • Corporate: B2B
    • Meeting, greeting and assisting corporate groups at Winter Wonders
    • Handling reservations and the corporate inbox
  • Ice rink
    • Overseeing and managing the ice rink ticket office
    • Onsite supervision of the ice rink

The intern must have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Speaks fluent French or Dutch. Has basic knowledge of another language. Knowledge of English would be an advantage.
  • Likes teamwork but can also work independently
  • Resourceful and sociable
  • Good administrative management
  • Good customer relations
  • Good practical management
  • Flexible and available (occasional evenings and weekends)

Practicalities

  • Minimum three-month period
  • Be available during Winter Wonders and until at least 16 January (obligatory)
  • Optional four-day week
  • Unpaid internship
